Many of us love a trip to Home Bargains to pick up some household essentials for a fraction of the usual price, but one recent find has left people stunned – as a £60 luxury shower gel is on the shelves for just 99p. And no, it’s not a dupe.
Bottles of Kiwi Botanicals Nourishing Shower Gel with Manuka Honey were spotted on sale for less than a quid by shoppers who then shared the news with people on Facebook, the Manchester Evening News reports. The product can be bought from other retailers online for around £36, but many of them state the item is on sale – and is down from the usual price of an eye-watering £60 for around 500ml.
One woman who scooped up a bottle of the shower gel and the body conditioner shared her findings with the Extreme Couponing and Bargains group on Facebook, where she wrote: “For pennies compared to the online price of £60 per bottle of shower gel, I took a look this morning and got this little lot.
“Not sure how much the body conditioner should be but that as well as the shower gel is only 99p in Home Bargains. Will look in a different store tomorrow to see if they have any other items from the collection.”
The same product is on sale at Ninth Avenue for £36.30, but they are advertising a saving of 39.5% from the RRP of £60, while OnBuy.com has the product in stock for £35.20, which it states is a 20% sale price from their RRP of £44.
And after hearing that the luxury brand is on sale for a fraction of the price at Home Bargains, shoppers on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group were quick to comment on the staggering price that other retailers charge.
One person said: “Who would buy a bottle of shower gel for £60? Even Molton brown doesn’t cost that.”
While another posted: “Those original prices are mad! Just proves to me how much profit these big companies are making and what fools we are to cough up the full amount!”
And others said the products are definitely worth getting if you can bag the 99p deal, as someone commented: “A bargain! Tried last night skin feels really soft today.”
You can find the Kiwi Botanicals range in Home Bargains stores now. Stocks may vary.
